Details

This is an introductory class where you will learn new techniques to improve your photography skills!

The goal for this 2 and a half hour class, is to have a better understanding of your camera settings and how they relate to one another.

You should attend this class, if you wish to learn how to take your camera out of automatic mode and be able to produce images with more artistic qualities and become a more creative photographer.

We will discuss how to set your camera using:

  • ISO

  • Shutter Speed

  • Aperture

  • Focus Points

  • Metering

  • White Balance

This Class is to designed to teach you some of the fundamentals of basic photography, and how to properly adjust settings in your camera to capture better quality images. You will learn how to control camera settings and not have to rely on your camera's program modes.

Although many of the cameras today are very smart, I bet you have still noticed, when your camera is in program mode, that your images are not always consistently exposed or focused correctly. We will explore the reason behind this, and help you to have a better understanding of why.

By the end of the class, you should feel more confident in shooting in manual mode, or how to use the various program modes effectively.

We will start the class spending a small amount of time getting acquainted with one another and figuring out what your personal goals and challenges are.

This is a hands-on class! You should bring your camera, lens, camera manual, and paper and pen for taking notes.

You may need your camera manual, as this is not a class to teach you how to operate your camera, but rather what the controls in your camera do and how to set them to properly achieve the exposure you desire. There are many different camera makes, and models and the controls are usually in different places. Please understand that I can not individually help each person, in this small time period, find their controls within their camera. It is best if you try to locate these things, and how to change them, before coming in order to get the most value from the class.

Please email me if you have any questions at:

I will look forward to seeing you there!

*This class begins promptly at 6:00pm and will last until 8:30pm. There is a lot to cover in this small time period so please try to be there on time.
