Urban Model Session in Downtown Columbia

This will only be canceled if it rains!

We will just be meeting inside the restaurant at 5:00, since I will probably not have the minimum number of RSVPs to reserve their backroom. If you do not wish to join us for a bite to eat or drink, we will begin shooting at 6:30 in a nearby loaction. I will update under comments the exact address I scouted to shoot at. It is within walking distance of this restaurant.

We are going to spend the first hour or so just talking over a bite to eat and the second half photographing models. I will have 2-3 models (I will add more if the RSVPs call for it) We should begin shooting by 6:30 in order to capture the "golden hour" sunlight. There are some great backgrounds in this urban area of Columbia. I spoke about them at the last Meet & Greet we had at this location. The area I am talking about is only a short distance from the restaurant.

I will be working with a couple female models and using compositional elements to create beautiful images. I will show you how I look for backgrounds, with good textures, leading lines, color balance, and many other compositional elements in order to create stunning final images on locations, that you may otherwise overlooked. We will look for beautiful natural light and I will show you how to use reflectors or maybe other modifiers when needed. I will demonstrate some of my posing techniques also, as our models are never professional models but rather "real" people (more like real clients, so that you can learn posing also).

If you are a more skilled photographer and wish to just join us to update your portfolio or perhaps just get out and collaborate with other like minded people - please feel free to do so. The more knowledge in the group, and willingness to share, the better. If you are new to people photography, please join us also - it takes lots of practice to get proficient at any art form, and we are here to try and help you! There are no egos allowed in our group and at all of our events, there are always different levels of photography skills!

We all walk away with images for our portfolios and have lots of fun in the process.

Each model is promised one to two images from each photography. They can simply be uploaded here on the Meetup site for them within two weeks of the event.

I hope to see you there!

This Meetup isonly a small fee of $15 (only $7.50 for paid PPG subscribers) Please become a member at www.portraitphotographygroup.com

Good Nick because I lost my 2nd model (I think) and am still waiting on comformation for another second so maybe she will play with me? You know I love photographing the kids anyways best! Chelsea is our other adult female. Some of you photographed her in Charleston I believe.

There will be an incredibly beautiful and charming little red-headed girl attending. We might be able to talk her into posing once or twice -- if someone other than her dad asks her. :-)

Also will this be more of a stationary shoot or will we be hopping from location to location? Got to work that morning but will defiantly try to be there.
