I had the pleasure of meeting some of you at the October event, but unfortunately I could not attend the November meeting. I am writing this today because I am searching for a partner for my site thebloco.com. In short, we're creating a digg for music; artists upload tracks directly, users vote/discuss/download.
There are currently two people on board, myself and my friend and partner in NYC. I am handling advertising/sponsorship/partnerships (I have been in B2B sales for 6+ years), he is handling music and artist relations (he has been in the record industry for 5+ yrs), and we are looking for someone to handle the programming side. Initially, we tried hiring someone from elance, but the quality of work was poor at best. Then, we brought in someone we were hoping would be committed to the project on an equity basis, but he had too many prior commitments to devote the time. That brings us to today.
We are seeking a partner (re- you will own 33%
of the company, there is no pay as we are bootstrapping and not currently earning) that will be our technological leader. You will ensure site quality, implement features, fix bugs, etc. We are handling all expenditures so we are not looking for any investment (unless you are an angel that sees the potential). We both have full-time jobs and assume you will as well, so we do not expect a 40 hour weekly contribution, but you must be able to dedicate time on a regular basis, and more importantly, _want_ to dedicate that time because you believe in the project like we do.
If you are interested or know someone that may be, please respond to [address removed]. Feel free to take a look at the site (obviously needs work), http://www.thebloco.com and our blog, http://www.thebloco.blogspot.com.
I look forward to hearing from you.
