This is a special hike because it's a full moon night. We'll begin the hike at a later time, 6:45p.. So bring something warm to wear and a snack to share with friends at the top.
what: Fullmoon hike and Snack bar at the turnaround (~3mile point). This will be a different route from the usual. It will also be a bit more challenging because of the extended distance and 3 additional hills added to the hike. The hill leading up to the turnaround is the steepest I've seen so far of all the trails I've hiked at Hulda Crooks Park. But don't worry, it's a short climb at this point. If you've been doing our weekday Blue Mountain hikes, pushing yourself, you'll be fine.
Plan to be at the turnaround for at least a half hour where we'll share in all the food and drinks under a well lit Fullmoon sky. Please go to the comment section below to indicate what snack item you like to bring. I'm thinking finger foods, chips, salsa, a little wine, etc... This will not be a BBQ. So don't bring the steaks....LOL!
where: Hulda Crooks Park, 11800 Mountain View Ave, Loma Linda, Ca
when: Tuesday, August 20th@6:45p.. The moon is scheduled to rise at 8:19p. providing us a well lit area by the time we get to the picnic area.
difficulty: semi strenuous - please know your limits
distance: ~5.5 miles
time: 3-3.5 hours
what: Look for me at the far left parking lot as you drive into the park at Mountain View and Beaumont Avenue. I will be driving the Silver Hyundai Elantra. If you need to call me or txt, my number is,[masked]-7132.
what to bring: plenty of water[masked] oz bottles, something to snack on, your food item for the potluck, running shoes or hiking boots, comfortable/warm clothing, flash light or headlamp.
If you bring a guest you must stay with them and are responsible for their safety
