Maynard Mine Trail (Indian Canyons)

This is a tough six-mile (three miles each direction) hike originating in the Andreas Canyon parking area, with an elevation gain of over 2,400' (i.e. very steep). Indian Canyons rates this hike as "strenuous". This trail and the Tungsten mine were built by Jim Maynard during World War II. Fabulous views! Entry fee for Indian Canyons is $9 per person. We are NOT meeting at the Trading Post - we will meet in the ANDREAS CANYON parking lot (near the porta potties) at 9:30 am.  Be sure to bring your lunch, as we will eat at the top!

Great hike. The views from the mine area were awesome! Sylvia thank you ever so much for leading. I appreciate the side hike and trip to trading post that was certainly neat. As always it was nice seeing everybody.

Neat little hike up a very steep mountain, just the thing to wear me out! I liked the mine, interesting history in those hills. Thank you Silvia, you are an awesome leader.
