We will take this hike through Icehouse Canyon, up to the Icehouse Saddle and pass through Kelly's Camp to Ontario Peak. We will encounter several false peaks before we get to Ontario Peak.
About half way up the Icehouse Canyon trail, there is a spring. The water does not need to be filtered. We can top off our water bottles here and bring a little less water.
There is a bottle opener mounted upon a tree at Ontario Peak, I never tried it out, so if you like bring a beverage of your choice to test out the bottle opener.
The views are spectacular on a clear day we will be able to see the Pacific and all of Catalina Island. We will enjoy a beautiful 360' view that will rival any peak.
The hike is @13 miles with a 4100 feet elevation gain and will take @ 7.5 hours to complete. This hike is for intermediate an advanced hikers.
An Adventure Pass is needed to park at Icehouse Canyon, available at a sporting goods store or ranger station.
