Hiking boots....

This is Michelle, new to the group. I have a hiking boot question for you. Have you ever worn Oboz boots? I was researching boots lst night online and took a trip out to REI today and tried on a few Merrells, Keens, and Oboz Hikers. Most of them mid ankle. I have some pronation issues and usually prefer a medial post and more lateral support. I loved these Oboz yellowstone II. They are supposedly waterproof...Whatever that means. The reviews were all very positive and they feel great on..What are your hiking wear opinions, prefererences and summerwear options?
Thanks for your help.

Looking forward to seeing you on thr trail.
