Who We Are: Professionally Speaking Singles Toastmasters (PSST) is the only Toastmasters club exclusively for single Houstonians! We're professionals united by a common goal: enriching our professional and personal lives with strong communication skills! As an upwardly mobile single, you need to think quickly on your feet, speak concisely and persuasively, and practice leadership skills which will last a lifetime.

When We Meet: Make us your little oasis on Monday nights! Visit us any Monday around 6:45pm at 1900 Bering Drive (Emerson Unitarian Church,) Houston TX 77057. Our meeting officially starts at 7:00pm and ends around 8:30pm. Learn fundamental speaking and leadership skills you can use in everyday life.

Social Events: After each meeting, members and guests go out for food, drinks, and conversation. We also get together weeknights and weekends for social events such as dinners, parties, movies, and dancing.

What It Costs to Join PSST: There's no cost to visit. New Member Dues are pro-rated depending on when you join. You will get more information when you visit.

How Soon Can I Join? To make sure our club is the right fit for you, attend at least 2 meetings. After the 2nd meeting, give the VP Membership your application and check. We'll vote on your application at the next meeting. (Note: Being a member of this Meetup does not make you a member of PSST.)

Can anyone give me more information about this group? I have terrible speaking skills and want to improve it. Is this a good group for this?

Yes this is the perfect group for folks looking to improve public speaking and leadership skills. Toastmasters is an international organization which nurtures the inane public speaking and leader ship skills in each of us. Meetings have at least 3 speeches prepared by members which have specific goals dependent upon which project the speaker is working on. Evaluations are given in the same meeting so you get immediate feed back. Evaluations are always aimed at celebrating the strengths and pointing out opportunities for improvement along with tips on how to do so. All of this is done in a safe environment where each member is working together to help each other become the best speaker and leader they can possibly be. Come to a meeting see what we are about I guarantee you, you'll leave feeling energized, knowing a little bit more about a topic or word you have never known and having met some really interesting people. Can't wait to see you there. =)
