United for Care and The Dubliner Irish Pub have joined forces to get medical marijuana on the ballot in 2014. “Beyond the Smoke”, a music and arts festival designed to get people out for a last chance to sign the medical marijuana petition will be held at the Dubliner Irish Pub in Citrus Park on Saturday December 28th.
683,143 signatures are required to get the medical marijuana initiative on the ballot for 2014. A little over 200,000 are still needed and the deadline is fast approaching. The Dubliner Irish Pub and United for Care have teamed up to host Beyond the Smoke a music and arts festival on Saturday December 28th 2pm-1am that is designed to bring awareness and support to the medical marijuana initiative.
United for Care is a Political Action Committee [PAC] that is spearheading this grassroots campaign to give people a chance to vote for or against medical marijuana. Their actions are led by John Morgan of Morgan and Morgan. United for Care representatives will be on hand to pass out petitions and to answer any questions about the cause.
The art and music festival will be held in the Dubliner’s (Citrus Park) authentic Irish pub and extensive parking area. Beyond the Smoke will feature live music from popular local bands throughout the day and into the night. The art festival will showcase many talented local artists and vendors who will have works to display and for purchase, there will also be interactive live art demonstrations and body-painting. The festival is pet and family friendly with artsy activities and face-painting for kids. Food and beer trucks will be on hand. There will be a $3 donation at the door.
