  • This location is shown only to members

IF YOU ARE A NEW MEMBER WHO WISHES TO TRY THIS EVENT AS THEIR FREE GAME PLEASE E-MAIL THE EVENT HOST SCOTT TO BE PLACED ON THE RSVP LIST.

We will play two 30 minute halves with a 5 minute break in between.

WARM UP FROM 8:00 TO 8:20 AND WE WILL START AROUND 8:25 PM.

IF WE HAVE MORE THAN 16 PLAYERS THEN WE WILL BREAK UP INTO FOUR TEAMS AND TWO GAMES.

This group is for everyone who loves the sport of Flag Football, and enjoys getting together with friends new and old on the gridiron!

With an emphasis on the social aspect, our games are casually competitive; more about having a positive & fun time than winning at all costs.

Non-Contact

• This is a non-contact game. All players must try to avoid contact at all times.
Tackling or blocking will result in a penalty.

• Offensive players must avoid contact with defensive players.

The lowering of the shoulder or initiating contact for the purpose of gaining yardage or position is not permitted. This is treated as an offensive flag guard. (See offensive penalties for details)

Game Length and Structure

Games consist of 2, 30-minute halves (with a brief halftime) with a continuous running game clock.

We found that teams of 6 or 7 players is the optimal number. And we will split the players into even teams as best we can.

First Downs

1st downs are earned based on distance and are not mobile markers. The 1st down marker will always be the midfield. After the ball is spotted, any part of the ball must be touching the “invisible plane” that is the first down line (i.e. midfield) to be awarded the first down.

When a team passes a 1st down marker, they receive a new set of downs. If a team passes a 1st down marker and then loses yardage on a following play, it does not get another 1st down if it crosses a marker it has already passed.

Defense

Doing its best to avoid contact, the defense can cover the offensive team as it sees fit, however, no defensive player may cross the line of scrimmage until 1 of 3 things happens:

1. Completion of the 5-second count (Mississippi),

2. A hand-off or lateral/toss in the backfield, or

3. A fumble in the backfield (Not a Fumbled Snap - which is a dead ball at the spot of the quarterback)

A ball carrier is “tackled”, meaning either:
(a) His/her flag is pulled,
(b) Any part of his/her body touches the ground (besides his/her feet),
(c) He/she runs out of bounds, or
(d) He/she, after losing a flag for reasons other than an action by the defense, is touched with one hand by a defender

Scoring

A touchdown is scored when a ball carrier’s hips and the ball break the plane of the goal line, or a receiver catches a ball (with one foot in bounds) in the end zone. Touchdowns are worth 7 points.

IMPORTANT NOTE: A touchdown is ruled based upon the ball carriers hips and the ball crossing the goal line's plane prior to the flag pull. Both the ball and the hips must cross the plane in order for the play to be ruled a touchdown.

If the flag is pulled before the ball crosses, but the hips cross the goal line, the play will not be ruled a touchdown.

Change of Possession

The ball is turned over to the other team whenever:
1. A play results in a score
2. A team fails to convert a fourth down into a first down by gaining the required yardage (turnover on downs)
3. A team executes a punt
4. A team intercepts the ball
5. The offense loses/fumbles the ball on the ground. In this instance, the 1st team to touch it receives the ball where it was touched. The play is dead as soon as a player touches it. (Penalties will be assessed to any player who dives for the ball or wrestles with another player for the ball and his/her team will automatically lose possession of the ball.)
(a) A fumble occurs any time the ball hits the ground on a non-forward pass attempt following the snap of the ball
(b) A fumbled snap is a dead ball and is not ruled a fumble under any circumstance.
6. A loss of down penalty committed on fourth down

Executing a Punt

Team with possession of ball may call punt on any down at which point the teams switch direction and the defensive team takes possession from where the offensive team called the punt.

Penalty

• Non Contact penalty - 5 yards
• Contact penalty - 10 yards

Disputes/Unsportsmanlike Conduct

If there are any disputes, the Event Host has the final say, period. We're looking for people who like to compete but do not go overboard about it.

If you're the type of player who:

1. Harps on other players inadequacies,

2. Has a negative attitude if the game doesn't go your way,

3. Thinks Flag Football was meant to be played with more physical contact, or

4. You generally think you're God's gift to Flag Football

You may want to join a league and pass us by.

We also would like to make one thing clear, any intentional contact which the Event Host deems to be Unsportsmanlike conduct will warrant an immediate ejection from the game.

We want positive people who enjoy playing with other like-minded individuals.
