Family Hiking at Sleeping Giant State Park

Bring the kids out for a fun family friendly hike through Sleeping Giant State Park. Pack a picnic lunch/drinks and enjoy the day in Nature.
The plan is to pick some easier trails for the kids to hike so no one is cranky and exhausted. There will be no rush to get to the top so plenty of rest stops if needed.
Dress appropriately for the weather and spending the day in the woods. Layered clothing and good walking shoes.
Rain date will be 11/9/13

I looked for the neon sweatshirt and didn't see one. I got to the front entrance and rocks were at about 11:45. Finally started walking up around 12:15 when my son was getting a little antsy. Maybe next time we'll actually get to meet up :)

So sorry we missed you. The delay on the parkway put us all 45min behind schedule. :(

I seem to be the only person here??? I'm right in front with my son and it's about 12:10. Maybe I'm in the wrong spot???

The state still charges admission until Nov 1st, so if anyone wants to carpool, we can meet off a commuter lot on the merritt

Hi-I've gotten a lot of meet up messages but this seems like the first one I might actually be able to do. My son is 3 1/2, thoughts on if this is something good for his age?

Hi Amey, I usually say 4 or 5 and older but if your son is an active hearty type, he may be able to do it. Or at least part of it

For those of you who haven't been to the Giant before, it is a good hike for those 5 and older. There is a dirt road that leads to the top, where the castle is located. There are always great photos from the top. I hope you can make it !

I changed the time to noon. Pack a picnic lunch and join us for a lovely day in the woods. Val will be leading the hike as she is the experienced hiker on Sleeping Giant!! We will head into the woods at 12:30! :)

Hunter and I love hiking. Hunter is with his dad on Sunday days. Saturday mid day afternoon is always a good time for us to meet with other groups. Hopefully next time! Thanks
