It’s such a simple step.
If San Diego bans single-use plastic bags, we can make a huge impact protecting our ocean.
This Thursday, we’ll join with environmentalists, along with business and civic leaders from all over San Diego, to declare our support for eliminating single-use plastic bags in San Diego and statewide. It’s happening this Thursday, August 29, at 10:00am inside Sea World.
Will you join us in person at our news conference?
We’ve all seen plastic bags along the beach and littering our streets. We know that all this plastic trash harms our local wildlife, and the bags that make it to the ocean can starve the sea turtles that mistake them for jellyfish.
We can do this, but we need to show that San Diego is ready and willing to make this change. Can you make it to show your support for the bag-ban? Click here to RSVP.
The support of people like you is the kind of local grassroots action that has powered all of our drives to ban plastic bags. Despite opposition from the big companies that make and sell all these plastic bags, we now have bans in more than 80 communities statewide,
We’ve got momentum on our side. Let’s make San Diego the next community to go bag-free.
