Picnic Drum Circle

Join us for a Picnic Drum Circle!  This event is co-hosted by the Bay-Area Drum Circle (www.meetup.com/badrumcircle) and the Pacific Drum Circles meet-up groups.  If you belong to both groups, just RSVP to one of them.

The location is a little known city park operated by the city of San Leandro. (It is NOT Lake Chabot Regional Park.) It's a small park nestled in a wooded valley area. Be sure to look at the map referenced above. See also http://www.sanleandro.org/depts/rec/parks/chabot.asp

For the picnic, bring what you want to eat and drink. It's not a potluck, but sharing food is ok. We might be able to find a few tables to use, but not guaranteed.  Paper plates, utensils and cups will be provided.  We don't plan to BBQ just to keep it simple.

For the drum circle, bring a chair and your favorite drumming equipment. Kathy Quain of Pacific Drum Circles will be on hand to lightly facilitate until around 1:30 pm, then we'll have lunch followed by free form drumming!

You're welcome, Kathy.... Thanks for organizing it. Let's do this again, say in about 2-4 weeks? I love that spot for drumming!

Big thanks to every one who came. Some were local and others came from pretty far away. Big thanks to David Gibbons for setting up his beautiful chimes. And thank you John for co-hosting! Great to get our groups together and exciting that 19 of us drummed together. . 20 if you include the guy that came over and danced for forks! Cheers, Kathy

It was a really good group and we had a great time. I counted a total of 19 drummers. We had lots of extra drums and percussion things to play..... and I mean LOTS!

I'm looking for a ride from Berkeley or a BART station (perhaps San Leandro). I have a disabled parking placard that may help with parking...

Looking forward to seeing everyone there! It's been way too long! Look forward to meeting you Tomaj. David ~ I'm so glad you can make it! If you bring your gongs and beautiful instruments, it always makes it a full event. Cheers!
