Bartlett Lake, full moon float

  • May 24, 2013 · 7:30 PM

Join us for a day before the full moon float at Bartlett Lake.

Camping may be arranged independently.

We will meet at Jojoba boat launch at 7:30 P.M. for the float. Jojoba launch is at Bartlett Lake Marina (map link below).

Jojoba is closed for large boats, but kayaks are allowed to launch at the adjacent beach areas.

Sun sets at 7:28 if you want to get their a bit early. The Moon rises at 7:15 P.M.

Bring: light for the boat (or headlamp), snack, water, life vest, TONTO PASS.
If you are new to paddling, I encourage you to bring a whistle to help folks find you if you are having some trouble.

No one gets left behind in the dark. We will implement new safety plan that will entail a scuba divers protocol to pair up (Randy's idea). We will make an effort to stay together as a group.

Paddle board folks welcome (naturally, its a paddle club...)

Please email or call me with any questions, or use the comment section.

I know it's warm, but it's only going to get warmer. :-/ Would anyone be interested in meeting at the Rattlesnake Cove Picnic Area around 5 pm for an impromptu pre-float barbecue? Randy and I will be there about 5:00 warming up the grill. Bring your own protein to throw on the grill, a side dish to share, and your own chair, drinks, and utensils. HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE! :-)

Dave, i'll plan on not going at this time. That will free up the boat you were going to rent to me. Anyone who would want to contact you about the boat could email you their ph. # at this late point in time to help to ensure making contact with you.

Sorry, about the late change in rsvp but my dog got sick, need to get to the store, don't have a head lamp. I should get one for the future...This is a great idea but Sat. or Sun. evening is probably a better time for me to go. Thanks for planning, Dave!

I am looking for help getting my kayak to the Lake. Unless of course in the next few weeks I get a carrier for the top of my car. I miss kayaking!!!I live off Shea Blvd. I can bring it to your place. I do not mind driving short distance with it hanging out back of Honda Accord.

Also Dave friend would like to join any extra Kayaks not being used. I see Verna already requested one.

You can also buy them online and print them with your printer. I don't believe there is a service charge, so cost is still $6
