Expedition 500

ONLY ONE BOARD IS AVAILABLE FOR RSVP (NO CHARGE) FOR THIS EVENT! However, an unlimited amount of tag-alongs are welcome!

CALLING ALL PADDLERS!

We need every person we can to get on every board we've got to help show a warm SUP welcome to Justin of the "Expedition Florida 500" project. We'll be paddling out to meet him, and then paddling with him back to the lighthouse for his warm welcome to St. Augustine.

Board rentals will be FREE to anyone that can make it to this event!

    CLARIFICATION: All paddlers who has RSVP'd a board from Let's Go Standup will also be provided with the required PFD and whistle. My Previous reminder was for the tag-alongs who are bringing their own board.

    Hello everybody! Well, the day is here! I wanted to remind everyone that a personal flotation device (PFD) and a whistle are required, by the Authorities Having Jurisdiction, while paddling the intracoastal waterways because SUPs are considered "vessels" when outside of the "surf zone". These items can be purchased very cheap at Wal-Mart. Keep in mind that PFD's are not required to be WORN, they only need to be on board each vessel, including a whistle for every person on a vessel. See you at 2:00PM!

    Good Afternoon Everyone! I am looking forward to this event tomorrow! Just a reminder that we need everyone at the lighthouse boat ramp at 2:00 PM, so that we can get you signed-in and ready to launch. Since it will be low tide, we will have to launch from the dock, which will be a little tricky with all 18 of us.

    We will launch from the dock at 3:00 PM and all paddle to the West bank of Conch Island, which is about a 20-25 minute paddle North from the dock. Justin and Jackson will meet us on the beach and we will all paddle back to the lighthouse for a beach clean-up from 4-6 PM. All participants are invited to the St. Augustine Yacht Club reception after the beach cleanup. The reception is for participants only and is not public.

    Please try to join us on Tuesday as well at the Fountain of Youth. At 10:45 AM, Justin and I will paddle to the Fountain of Youth where Justin will be awarded a proclamation from the City of St. Augustine and greeted with a Marine Salute!
