Cooking and Nutrition Class! (part 2)

I hosted a cooking and nutrition class last month, and it was great! We had 19 people come total- Me (Jamie) and 1 other from this group!

What's cookin'? This time we will be doing a healthy stir-fry night!

Topic- The topic for the evening will be all about blood sugar and carbohydrates. We'll cover how many carbs are right for you, and why the Standard American Diet and Food pyramid are way off! No worries if you missed the first class- each one can stand alone!

Cost- $39 (includes full meal with a healthy dessert)

To sign up officially, go here http://www.beatthecreep.com/register - or you can just RSVP to the meetup and I'll add you to my list!

If you want to come, please sign up by Friday March 28 so we have enough food for everyone!

I know it's way west for some of you city folk to come to on a Tuesday night, but if you can make it, I look forward to meeting more paleo people!

well, thoughts on a Chicago class????

I think that talking to the whole foods off Ashland would be a great idea! My upcoming schedule is too busy to organize it within the next month, but I can put that on my list of things to look into within the next few months! If anyone wants to organize something sooner, I'd be happy to share ideas with you and tell you what I've done in the past!

I need to undo my rsvp. I won't make it in time on a Tuesday. I'll look for another opportunity closer to the city of Chicago.

the whole foods in Lakeview on north Ashland has a kitchen including eating area upstairs and has held these types of classes/events there as well as their location in Lincoln park!

Have you considered a city (Chicago) version?

    March 10, 2014

    • Jamie

I do think a city version would be great for the future! I would have to find a restaurant that would be willing to partner in that endeavor. If anyone has suggestions feel free to let me know and I can try to reach out to them. The great thing about the Sweet Potato Café (besides the fact that it's in my normal stomping grounds) is that they are only open for breakfast and lunch, so they have the flexibility to open up for events like this in the evening without having to interrupt normal dinner service!
