Closing down Palm Beach Pack & Paddle's Meet-up site
Tuesday, December 1, 2009 8:57 AM
Dear members of Palm Beach Pack & Paddle on Meet-up,
Unfortunately, we will be closing this Meet-up site for Palm Beach Pack & Paddle. In the one year that we've tried this Meet-up site, I've been contacted by over 300 people who are also interested in finding outdoorsy people with similar interests. You may not know it, but there is a monthly fee to have your group listed on Meet-up and we need to "tighten our belt" a little. I don't know when the exact date that we will close this site. I have emailed the Meet-up directors and will let you know of the "official" end date.
If you have joined as a paying member of Palm Beach Pack & Paddle, rest assured, our club is still very active and you can check our website at www.clubkayak.com/PandP/. We're only discontinuing this Meet-up website.
Our monthly meetings are still held the 2nd Monday of each month at the Okeeheelee Nature Center (on Forest Hill Blvd., W. Palm Beach, Florida) at 7pm.
Our club's members have been enjoying the beauty of Florida by paddling, hiking, backpacking and enjoying other adventures for over 30 years. We also support many local environmental groups and, for many years, have been sponsoring children so they can attend the summer camp programs at the Everglades Youth Camp. By becoming a member of Palm Beach Pack & Paddle, you will receive the monthly newsletter which lists many trips and activities that may only be offered to members and that are not listed on the public web sites. Club members can also use some of the Club's gear such as canoes, kayaks and backpacks for free.
I've enjoyed meeting and conversing with many of you over the past year. I hope to see you in person at a future P&P event.
Best wishes always,
