Contemplation, Honesty, and Compassion
an Introduction to Buddhist Study & Practice
Palo Alto Buddhist Study Group
Wednesday, April 17, 7:00 - 9:00 pm
“If your happiness includes the causes of suffering, that is mixed happiness, like rice that is not pure. If we remove the causes of suffering in our happiness, that joy will be purer and stronger.” - Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche
Please join us as we continue our contemplation and discussion series! A few topics that we will cover include:
- What are merits and virtues? What is the importance of generating merits and virtues on the Buddhist path, and how do these influence your life?
- What is contemplation/self reflection? How is it used on the Buddhist path? Why is it essential?
- What is honesty according to Buddhism? What is compassion according to Buddhism?
We welcome all to join us for a discussion of the teachings of our guru, Namnang Mingjo Dorje Rinpoche. We will continue to discuss the essence of Buddhist practice, and how understanding and removing our suffering can transform our mind and our lives, and help us develop true happiness.
This evening will be a wonderful opportunity to familiarize yourself with the principles of Buddhism, no matter your level of experience. All are welcome! Hope you can join us, and bring a friend!
For any questions or directions, please call Julie at[masked]-8420. Please RSVP through Meet Up to help us with our planning. Thanks, and see you soon!
