Over 2550 years ago, the child who would become the historical Buddha first set foot on this earth.  Join us as we celebrate his birth with a day of offering the traditional Bathing Buddha Ceremony and Animal Liberation Ceremony saving lives. Come and spend a beautiful day in retreat, turning your mind towards the compassion and wisdom of Shakyamuni Buddha. When you enter our Dharma center you will feel like you just entered a Pure Land!

In the morning session, we will have the special Bathing Buddha ceremony and offering prayers in the presence of relics from the Buddha.  Doing practice in the presence of the relics of Shakyamuni Buddha is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and has great blessing power!   Attendees will receive blessed incense water to clean their own altar.

In the afternoon we will have an Animal Release or Liberation Ceremony. "In terms of creating good karma, Buddhism teaches that nothing surpasses saving the life of a being facing imminent death".

Note: bringing small critters for the Animal release is encouraged (Crickets, worms or your choice).

Everyone is welcome including families.  This is a very powerful and auspicious day for creating good imprints in your mind with the positive potential of any actions performed on this day being multiplied many hundreds of thousands of times.

"Through Rinpoche's wisdom he created the abode of the Buddha - - the beautiful mandala of the Buddha, the bathing bath and offerings to the Buddha.  He created the methods of prostration, offering, confession, rejoicing, praise, requesting, beseeching and dedicating that help all of us to connect with the essence of the Buddha within our own minds.  We can thus feel the power within our own minds rise up beyond the delusion and discover an inner peace and happiness that can be shared and discovered by all.  This is a very special day.  All of this is the manifestation of the kindness of Rinpoche, of his humble dedication and diligence to help all of us so that we may help others and through this effort all beings may quickly reach Enlightenment."

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
