learn compassion meditation

I'll be teaching a Stanford meditation course on the science and practice of mindfulness and compassion. Buddhism is at the heart of this material. It's an 8-week class that is designed to develop the qualities of mindfulness and compassion for oneself and for others. It will take place at Stanford on Thursdays in September and October from 7-9 pm Using the latest research in neuroscience and psychology, readings, practical exercises, meditation, and class discussion, the course teaches a more composed and compassionate response to the challenges of everyday life. It's a very unique course because it blends the best scientific research with mind and heart practices. Classes are small and intimate and will be in a pretty space. You can see more details and register here: It would be a fun and interesting Palo Alto thing to do. It starts September 5th.
