Weekly group meditation is a perfect complement to your private meditation practice. Many people find that they can meditate deeper, longer, and more easily in a group setting. We follow Paramahansa Yogananda's style of group meditation. We begin with his Energization Exercises for those who know them. If you haven't learned them yet, we'll lead you through some simple yoga warmups. Then we have a prayer and a few minutes of chanting to lead into the meditation. The meditation itself is silent and lasts one hour, though if you aren't able to meditate that long, you may leave halfway through. We end with healing prayers. Both beginning and experienced meditators are welcome. We have chairs, benches, and cushions you can use, or, if you have your own favorite meditation seating, you are very welcome to bring it along.
