MoSQL (not to be confused with a few other similarly named products) is an experimental storage engine for MySQL offering elasticity, scalability and serializability and is the product of the speaker's masters and doctoral research in collaboration with Daniele Sciascia and Professor Fernando Pedone of the University of Lugano. A prototype has been open-sourced and is available on Github/Bitbucket. Recent efforts are focused on integration with cloud platforms such as Openstack.
The talk is held by Alex Tomic. He is a research assistant with the University of Lugano. Prior to working on MoSQL, he had extensive practical experience as a MySQL and PostgreSQL DBA in the online media and financial sectors, and as a
developer for DB2 Universal Database in the IBM Toronto Lab.
