On Meetup.com, we're committed to trying to provide a place to practice or hone your skills as an investigator, or, just interested. One note of interest is that I usually choose someone who has demonstrated their ability or willingness to learn the methods of a proper investigation to join one of two teams I have to respond to a potential residential haunting. The paid events are just plain fun. If you're not getting answers, you are able to try another approach. At the moment I have one team comprised of only investigators who've shown proficiency, or willingness to learn, the ins and outs of performing LIVE investigations.
We have an incredible amount of talent and personalities that come from as far as Sulfur Springs to Waco.
While it's not a requirement to pay for an investigation to be on a team, it is, for now, the best way for me to see who works well with others and get the job done. And they are a lot of fun.
We have a page on Facebook, Paranormal Investigations of DFW, but I have found it easier to recruit from within. We do residential/business investigations with the professionalism you would associate from someone paid to do a job. Our private investigations are done with NEVER a charge to the homeowner, as most legit teams do as well. Getting paid tends to taint an investigation. Gas money or room and board (over 200 miles away) are at the discretion of the homeowner only. When we have investigated out of town, say our last trip to Yorktown Memorial Hospital, we paid all of our own expenses, carpooled, etc.
This is an interesting field. I can say that you will get what you put into it.
I hope to see you soon during an investigation.
