Parenting in Transition Meetup

  • May 19, 2012 · 11:00 AM

Parents in Transition Consultants work together as one community towards the common goal of ensuring that parents learn to maintain a healthy parenting relationship.
We believe that by sharing our expertise with the community we will empower and enlightened parents and ultimately reduce the rising numbers of child abuse and neglect cases in New York.

Are you parenting in difficult situations? For eg. Divorce, domestic violence, mental illness, addictions
Do you have a history with ACS and is in need of support and education
Do you have problems raising your teenager ?
Do you have a special needs child?
Does your child have an IEP, IFSP, or a Section 504 Plan?
Do you have a child that suffers from emotional and/or behavioral problems?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions this is the parenting program for you.

This is an open forum for parents and educators to meet and discuss developing strategies for raising children. These classes will help you in learning effective parenting skills, improve your relationships with your children and co-parent(s), and also reinforce appropriate behavior in others.
As parents we must take the time to become educated in order to make informed decisions, take appropriate actions and help provide the highest possible quality of life for those who depend on you.
This is a safe place to express the emotional pain and gain support.
We use Best Practice, Evidence Based Research, DVDs, case scenarios, handouts, small group exercises and role play to maximize parent learning. This is a five weeks parenting program.
