Please tell briefly what is your experience of hiking ?
A lot of trekking in Nepal and Europe
Would you be interested to join the cycling trips too ? If yes, pls state your level (like going uphill for how long time is no pb for you ?). Do you have a bike (MTB or else ?) - Or do you know where to rent one ?
Do you enjoy going out of the city for a full day hike, a half day bicycle ride - or just an afternoon walk in a park ?
This group is for anyone willing to do active events during week-ends.
Mostly based around 2 activities - but not necessarily limited to it :
hiking or cycling (in this case : mountain bike OR road cycling).
Amateur level only !
Regular events will be held in the many parks and forests surrounding Paris, starting from a location easy to reach by metro or close to a suburban train station.
Let’s exercise while having fun and meeting others … Sense of humour is a must, as we plan to be a social sports group first.
Anyone who wishes to, is welcome to bring along some food or a drink to share - as there should be a few of breaks during the events.
Level for hikes (always moderate) : 15k to 22 km day or afternoon hikes (at an average speed : 4 km / hour).
For cycling trips & other sports, we will do according to the group’s level but never above moderate (as there are specific Meetup groups for triathletes, cyclists or marathonians).
This group's organizers having an extended knowledge of hiking around Paris as well as anywhere else, we can later extend this group to other activities like camping & river kayak, hiking or cycling week-ends in central France or along the french coast, …
Events will not often be cancelled due to the weather :
even if it is sometimes raining for a short time or not too warm during the da, it's always very good for health (incl. the immune system) to be walking or exercising in the outdoors for a couple of hours ... among other benefits of sports.
