First Paris MongoDB User Group Meeting

  • September 28, 2011 · 7:00 PM

Welcome to the First Paris MongoDB User Group!  We will be having :

- Brendan McAdams, 10gen Engineer speaking on "How MongoDB differs from classic RDBMS, and probably how it differs from other NoSQL databases."

- Dustin Whitney, CTO of Trust Metrics, speaking on "Salat is a library for serializing and deserializing Scala case classes to and from MongoDB. Think of it as an ORM for MongoDB, but without the horrible n+1 selects, because, like MongoDB itself, it does nothing to help you define the relationships between classes"

- Katia Aresti, Software Engineer working at Xebia, on "MongoDB en pratique chez UrbanDive"

Please feel free to make any suggestions on other topics you would like to see from this group and we are looking forward to seeing you.

    Hello,

Yes, I've asked the speakers for their slides, and waiting for their answers.
I also recorded the talks on video, but I have to edit them first. I may post them by the end of the week, luckily.

Brandon's MongoDB presentation was a good review of the main differences / concepts / advantages of MongoDB.
I also liked the use case Urban Dive presented by Katia from Xebia.

C'était très enrichissant et très bien. La dernière conf sur le retour d'expérience m'a conforté dans l'idée qu'on peut faire de belle chose avec MongoDB.
