Hi Everyone
Meditation meet up at my apartment on Sunday, February 17th, 7pm-10pm.  Using Mindfulness (Insight) Meditation, and finishing with a small (10 minute) metta meditation. Bring your own cushions. There is only room for 6, 8 if people like being cozy.

If you are new to meditation or buddhist meditation, don't worry, these meditations (vipassana and metta) are simple and I can explain them easily.

    Good vibrations. Thanks Travis for instructions and good atmosphere, it helped me to avoid the distraction of too much thoughts, and keep focus. More over it was my longest meditation until now. At the end, felt in peace and as if I had taken off a lead weight.

    Into Buddhism of late, would love to know more about this.

      Hi Rashmi, I'm considering hosting it weekly, and move on from insight meditation to more advanced meditations, as well as dharma talks. Vipassana is a basic (intrinsic to buddhism) meditation (not necessarily easy:) ). It is used in Theravada, Mahayana and Vajrayana meditations. If you exclude spirituality, it promotes calmness and tranquility. If you include spirituality, it helps you develop tools to be a better buddhist, diminishing your ego and your attachment and the kleshas, etc.
