Well, I don't have much to add, David said it well: the first purpose of this platform is to "enhance" collaboration and mutual help among filmmakers, technicians, actors, with two main focuses: first one is merely user interface: maps, dashboards, and posts you can interact with are better than a static mailing-list. Second one is reliability: by adding a social layer (profiles and portfolios, recommendation system), our purpose is to smooth out the (many) situations where someone offers help and cancels last minute...
We're in beta, so we're working hard to improve the first features/ design/ etc that are on the website. A new release should be online end of next week with a lot of changes, I'll keep you posted about that.
We intend to develop a lot of other features during the next few months, but I won't bother you with it right now, it's just sci-fi at the moment. Don't hesitate to shoot me an email if you have ideas or comments, though!
Well, see you on Thursday 18th for the PFC meeting!

Reelstorm is a new web community/service in development by PFC member Jonathan Bourguignon...
It is location based, uses Google Maps, and allows users to post requests or offers to help [casting, shoot, etc] directly on the map. Users can rate each other, etc.
It is in beta. Jonathan needs user communities, to get this going, and has asked if PFC would participate... so, please take the time to look, and, at minimum, when you get ready to post to Cineaste, think about cross-posting to Reelstorm.
Please Note: If you hit "REPLY", your message will be sent to everyone on this mailing list ([address removed])
