My youngest little buddie is an all yellow American budgie. His name is Archimedes the Griffin (1 y/o as of 05/31/12), but he usually goes by just Archimedes or Archie. He is probably one of the sweetest and most brilliant parakeets I know. The bigger birds who are in my life are my parents' umbrella cockatoo named Casey and a lilac crowned amazon named Oliver. Both Casey and Oliver have so much love to share and are wonderful birds I am so grateful to have grown up with.
Hi, I'm Alix. In a world of cat and dog people, I am most certainly a bird person.
Absolutely, a fantastic group of people. It's been great for our parrots who get to meet other parrots and us who get to meet other people with parrots that inevitably must deal with the ups and downs of human-parrot relationships. We've learned lots of new things about our feathered friends as well as new ways to enrich their lives, like how to make destroyable toys that last more than a day. Every time we've come to this parrot meetup, we've left our homes in the fluster of our daily lives, but we've returned with happy birds and much less flustered selves. I'm so glad this meetup exists.
