Hiker Signup Maximum: 15
Cost: $47 payable online via the event page (The payment link conveniently takes you to Amazon Payments). To RSVP "Yes", you must complete your payment securely online. This amount covers both your raft seat and your tent space at the outfitter's campground on Saturday night. Refunds are available until up to 2 weeks before event start date.
DIFFICULTY RATING : Saturday: The whitewater rafting is a guided tour by a professional outfitter. By design, no whitewater experience is required. Sunday: the exact hike location is to be determined (as of this June[masked] writing) but you can expect that it will be a route that is Moderate to Strenuous in the Cherokee National Forest.
DRIVE TIME : 2.25 hours one-way from Antioch to Ocoee.
DIRECTIONS: From Antioch carpool to Outfitter in Ocoee TN. Google Link to directions. GPS location: [masked],[masked]
AGENDA: (subject to changes) On Saturday we will meet at the carpools, then rendezvous near Cleveland, TN, and eat lunch on the road. Following lunch, we will drive on to the outfitter by 1 pm (Central Time). Our activity time for the Middle Ocoee river run starts at 2pm (CT). We should return to the campground near 5 pm (CT). We will get cleaned up, tents out, and begin the evening cookout. Food details to be determined.
Sunday morning, we will eat breakfast, break camp, check out, and head for a hike in the forest. Sunday afternoon we head back to the original carpool locations.
Please RSVP with integrity. If you've signed up, then learn you cannot attend, please change your RSVP to "No, Can't Go".
Please offer your carpool driver $15 to $20 cash money for gas, vehicle usage, and driving services. At the time of this writing, average cost of gas in the greater Tennessee region is $3.50/gal.
