Many of our hikes are rated strenuous or difficult. Which of the following terms would best describe your physical fitness level and hiking experience? Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced? (Non-athletic Hiking Beginners beware--events can be tough)
To maintain the Meetup site, the Organizer must pay monthly dues. From time to time, the Organizer will ask for a $1 donation at an event. There's no required membership fee or big sales push. Are you willing to donate one cash dollar sometimes?
We encourage carpooling as most of our adventures require long-distance driving. If you are a passenger in a carpool, are you willing to contribute fairly to the driver for the expense of fuel and vehicle usage?
What is the one hiking location in Tennessee or outside of Tennessee that you enjoy most and why?

RSVP with integrity. If plans change, then change your RSVP. If you RSVP "Yes" but don't show, you have blocked someone on the Wait List. Repeated abuse of RSVP may result in your removal from the GO list in the future.Do you accept the RSVP policy?
Ask yourself: Why do I want to join a Hiking Group?
If you are a hiker who wants to stretch yourself as an explorer, then Part-time Adventurers of Tennessee (P.A.T.) is the group for you. We use most of the same advertised trails that others have clearly blazed before but every now and then we leave the established trails, scramble or hop the occasional boulder, travel to scenic parts you can't see from the trail, walk under a beautiful waterfall and get a little dirty in the effort.
Come check us out if you are interested by adventures in hiking, caving, backpacking, rappelling canyoneering, whitewater, kayaking, camping...and the occasional roller coaster ride. This is not a group comprised of Superheroes---we just like to push and challenge each other. We originate from Tennessee and travel the southeast for outdoor fun: Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, North Carolina,...and explore great locations far and wide such as Red Rock Canyon near Las Vegas, Nevada, the scenic canyon country of Southern Utah or the wet 'n' wild Columbia River Gorge of north/central Oregon.
What great exploration is next on the horizon? Join an event and find out for yourself.
