The heroes came out of the portal from the Feywild and headed toward Helm’s Hold. The scene they witnessed was without words. A massacre had taken place here, and bodies were everywhere. Most of the corpses had been dragged away from the monastery and strewn into piles of death. Most of the victims were spellscarred, most likely patients there for treatment. Bandaged and scarred bodies were bitten and clawed, torn and ripped. The attacks looked to have continued well past what would have killed the person, revealing a bloodlust in the attacker. The rampage continued in the area surrounding Helm’s Hold, and the makeshift tent village had been burned to the ground. The carnage stopped near the entrance to Helm’s hold, although the ground did show signs of battle.

Once the team entered the monastery, they heard several roars and saw several barbarians. One particularly large barbarian shouted a call to scour the temple and annihilate the infection. The Prophet Rohini was engaged in a bout with a werewolf, but it looked like she could handle herself as she struck a vicious blow and the werewolf turned and ran away down the hall. She took off after him, dodging the other enemies. The enemies then noticed the party and proceeded to attack them.

After a hard fought victory the heroes went looking for Rohini, and witnessed her finishing blow on the werewolf. She turned around and they saw she had glowing blue eyes, which she immediately covered up. The party decided to take issue with that later and searched the bodies of the barbarians. The large one had a crumpled piece of paper that when examined turned out to be a missive from “The Prince of Shade.” It ordered a full scale assault on Helm’s Hold, and included detailed instructions to loot as many magic items as possible. There were also directions to where the barbarians were to bring the loot, and the note concluded by telling the barbarians to stay and protect that location, as the “outlanders” would want to steal the crown piece and the treasure.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
