Social Painting

Ever wanted to learn to paint all of that bare metal you've accumulated over the years, but just were not sure how to get started? Maybe you are a great painter and would exchange ideas with others. Let's get together an do some painting. Bring something to paint and any supplies you have. There will be some to share as well. The 'class' will be a freeform with lecture mixed in. We will spend most of our time applying paint. Painting is a craft skill that has to be done repetitively to improve. The idea is to have a regular meeting time where we can get some of those figures done that we've always been meaning to do--that and hang out and have a good time. Some topics we are going to cover, not in any one sitting:
* materials: selecting paints, inks, washes, goop, glazes
* techniques: dry brush, washes, highlighting, mop method, assembly line
* color theory: color wheel, mixing paints, seeing color, dry palette, wet palette
* assembling metal figures: the pin vise, pinning, gluing, greenstuff
* sculpting: more greenstuff, tools
