Weekly PFS at The Family Game Store in Savage, MD

Savage Mills has a games store that has an upstairs room full of tables. It's in a fairly quiet local little mini-mall near the "junction point" of Baltimore, Howard, Prince George's and Anne Arundel Counties. I know Matt was looking into gaming there during the week, I'd just like to publicly say "yes, please!" to that and see where we're at with all that.

Also, if it works out and we get a choice of days, Wednesdays I can be there by 5pm!

I will be a little late the first week. I have a class but this is the last week of classes. Should be there by 5:30 at the latest.

Tuesdays are good. What will you be playing on Dec 4th?

First Steps pt. 1. It should start being every Tuesday or every other so keep an eye out here on Meetup for updates!

Yay! I got the OK from Family Games this afternoon for a regular (or semi-regular) Tuesday PFS table. I'll start collecting up the necessary GM materials (the rest of Core Assumption, some more minis...) and start running scenarios there. In the meantime, if anybody wants to run something in Savage Mill on a Tuesday (5-9) just go ahead and post it; I'll set it up with the store.

Well, I wasn't able to get a battlemat (ok, I got one, but I won't have it until too late) so if anyone wants to let me use one for the evening, that would rock. Thanks.

I am willing to run and want to play some games at store as I live about 10 minutes away. Tuesday evenings work well for me and my schedule as I have other obligations for the rest of the week. I have not run any Pathfinder stuff in a little while but I guess GMing is like riding a bike right, LOL.

So are we on for this week then?

The physical copies is where it gets tricky. The Player Core Assumption is the Core Rulebook, the society field guide, and the guide to organized play. Additionally, a GM should have a physical copy of the Pathfinder RPG Bestiary and access to all books in the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game line of hardcover rulebooks. The Hardcover rulebooks is where it gets a little crazy, but that would include the Inner Sea World Guide, Advanced Players Guide, Ultimate Combat, Ultimate Magic, Ultimate Equipment, Advanced Race Guide etc. Personally I don't think anyone would expect a Gm to tote those all to any game, and pdf formats are acceptable I believe. Really they just want a Gm to have some familiarity with all of the main rulebooks that players could be using options from so that they aren't blindsided by a bunch of characters and rules they don't know about.

Players and GMs should have a physical copy OR pdf of the Core Rulebook at a minimum. The Guide to Organized Play is free. GMs would be greatly served to have their own physical or pdf copy of the Bestiary, but GMs are allowed to use the PRD to print up monsters from any of the bestiaries as they prep a scenario. Players are not allowed to choose options (classes, races, spells, magic items, feats, traits, weapons, armor, etc) if they don't own a physical or pdf copy of the source material. Sometimes the PRD or PFSRD only present an abbreviated form of the option in question, you need to bring the sourcebook for every non-Core option your character chooses.

Ok, I've updated this game for an official date of 4DEC12 starting at 5:00 PM. Jeremiah will probably start the first steps series. If people have other requests and can list their characters and levels in the RSVP, that would be helpful in determining what scenario would be a good fit for everyone. If anyone who previously RSVP'd to show interest in the game, but can not attend now due to the day or the time, please unsign yourself to make room for others who might be waiting. Thanks and I hope to see everyone there!

How about Wednesdays? I would like to find a regular weeknight game.

Matt, I'm actually headed down to Savage Mill today to see who I can talk to at Family Games and the Mill itself (it's Black Friday so I don't really expect a lot of enthusiasm on the Mill's part about talking to me).

So I talked to Will. He said that Wednesdays should be fine despite their many activities those evenings, since we would be able to use the cafeteria area (because the cafe is closed evenings). Converse to Matt's luck, Will didn't want to commit without talking to his dad, first.

Also, to the leader types: I don't have physical copies of all of the core assumption or many minis (alliteration!) but I would be more than happy to judge (here or elsewhere).

I'm open to whatever day except Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Saturday is OK w/me but I was really hoping for a weekday game.

Aaargh! to Mondays, that's really the ONLY day of the week that I just can't do (well, for about a year). I'm down for Saturdays (that's at least two of us, now!) but I already know that they have a lot going on on Saturdays.

I could be available for Monday nights there.

We just need to talk to Will (one of the owners) as his father didn't want to make the final decision. They recommended Mondays or Tuesdays in particular, with Mondays being better only because there's no other games or classes going on upstairs.
