Come on up for a portion or all of the two days of fantastic trout fishing Red Feathers has to offer. I do have a plot of land that we can camp on. There is electricity and a out house the rest you will have to provide.

If you are short of equipment let us know so we can bring extra. Remember April can be chilly in the mountains so bring layers!

Getting there: Drive 21 miles north of Fort Collins on Highway 287. Turn left onto the Red Feather Lakes Road (County Road 74E) and travel approximately 21 miles, about 0.7 miles past the Parvin parking area and turn right onto Dowdy Drive. Take this road about 0.8 miles (be sure to go right at bend about 0.6 miles in on this road) and turn left at fork to go to the boat ramp entrance about 100 yards on right.

    All,

I have done a bit of research. Our electricity is not going to be able to accommodate the 5th wheels. Although there are first come first serve camping spots at Dowdy Lake that do have everything a 5th wheel would need. Dowdy is only a 1/4 mile from the cabin property we are staying at. I'll be heading up Friday morning at should be there by 9am. We can cook and hang out in the evenings at the Dowdy Camp ground and then head back to our respective tents or trailers for some shut eye. Again I can support tenters on our property if you do not wish to pay the camp site fee at Dowdy. Just let me know on Friday. We are going to be fishing a combination of Dowdy and Parvin lakes. Remember Parvin is flies and lures only. Please bring any supplies and gear you require. If there are any special needs or questions let me know. We can all sit down and talk about the Patriot Anglers and it's future one of the evenings if you would like. Louis (Chappy)[masked]

I am not sure how much of a draw on electricity the cabin on the land can handle from two fifth wheels. I am checking into the west lake camp ground for a possible relocation at Red Feathers to accommodate the group better. Was not prepared for the larger campers.

My wife and I both are Veterans and enjoy fishing and camping. We would like to attend the fishing event at Red Feathers 26 April. We have a 27 foot camper. Is electricity available?

Just wanted to put out a little more information on the Patriot Anglers.
We are a non profit corporation that provides fishing trips for military veterans and their families. We use meet up to plan fishing get togethers with like minded people and to raise awareness of our cause. We will post all our open trips here as well as on our facebook site. Since January we have been able to take over fifty military families to the rocky mountains on fishing excursions. We are always looking for great volunteers to help out on the trips, and we have volunteer staff positions open as well if anyone is interested. facebook.com/patriotanglers We will be getting a website soon and have some great fundraisers planned for the future

Thanks for joining us! Just to clarify the land we are camping on is private and has a small cabin on it. The electricity is coming from the cabin and I am not sure how much draw it can handle. We do have room for plenty of tents and a fifth wheel. Two might be stretching it. There are two different camping areas at the lakes we will be at Dowdy, and West that can handle the fifth wheels a tad bit better. Sorry if I was not clear in the original posting. We are a small group with a small budget so we are trying to make do with he resources we have. My number is[masked] give me a call for further questions or arrangements.

May bring a guest. I found the lake and it does not allow boats, so I won't bring my drift boat. Might bring my kayak.

All the lakes are kayak friendly. The drift boat will be allowed on Dowdy which is on the other side of the road. And yes guests are welcome.

Shall I bring my Boulder Boat Works drift boat; seats three? Don't see any ramp on the Red Feather Lake. Sounds like great fun.
