The CPW Officer scouted our fishing areas and others for us. The ice is breaking up at all lakes. Shorelines with open water are rocky and cover with snow and ice. We cannot safely get a large group of families in one area with the facilities that are needed to support the activity.

Event: Retreat # 46 Ice Fishing Activity for Project Sanctuary
Date/Time of Activity: April 19th, 2014 from 9am - 3pm
Location: Willow Creek Reservoir
Location Details: Willow Creek: Patriot Anglers staff and
volunteers will pre fish to determine the best location for the fishing
activity. This determination will be made as close to the actual event as
possible to ensure the best possible fishing outcome.

Staff/Volunteers: At least 8 Staff/Volunteers from the Patriot Anglers are needed.
Volunteer Info: Be ready to help set up and pre-fish the lake we will need volunteers to help cook lunch and other small tasks. If fishing please have a fishing license. Bring the necessary clothing and sunscreen to protect your self from the elements. The Patriot Anglers will provide fishing equipment for the activity.
Event Details: Our staff/volunteers will help with all fishing matters and be willing to teach basic fishing skills. We will be fishing from the shore any fish caught can be kept or released depending on the wishes of the participant. We can also teach the participants how to clean a fish. Fishing licenses will be needed by all participants and volunteers 16 and over.

RISK AND SAFETY ASSESSMENT
Weather Risks: A chance of snow, freezing temperatures, high winds.
Travel Risks: Roads always have the potential to be snow packed,
wet, or ice covered on the Berthoud pass
Water/Ice Risks: - The ice and snow on or around the lake can be very slippery and freezing. There is always a wildlife risk, please be cautious of your surroundings.
Safety Plan: When fishing, there is always a risk of injury with sharp hooks and other gear. A short safety class will be given to those who attend. The water is very cold and icy, keep an extra close eye on small children. Please be aware of all safety concerns and report and fix any issues that arise.
