The month of June seems pretty scarce as far as rides go, so I am proposing a semi-local Poker Run to help out some “Critters”. The Spring Hill Cruising for Critters is having their 6th Annual Poker Run. I do not think there is any one of us that do not like our favorite pet. It is proven that pet owners live a happier and more content life (not to mention the pets are happy too).
This run benefits The Humane Society of the Nature Coast, which is a 501(C)3 organization (tax deductable) dedicated to serving the community through the compassionate care of all animals. They rely solely on the generosity of the community through donations and sponsorships. This is a great way to support this organization, a good reason to get out on the open road and enjoy rider commradierie. The run route is mostly open back roads through Hernando County, so it will be a nice ride; total ride miles to the event, the run and back will be about 150 miles. They also will have an event patch that we will need to find some space to sew on our vest!
I propose we meet at the McDonalds parking lot at Bearss and Florida Ave at 8:30 am and depart shortly after that. We will head north up Hwy 41 to Spring Hill Drive, and then east on Spring Hill Drive to Hwy 19. After a few more miles on Hwy 19, we will be at the Poker Run registration, around 9:30 am (+/-). We can register, and take a break before the event kicks off.
