I know this is short notice but Project Road Warrior is something that came across my plate yesterday.
The goal of this ride is to raise awareness and funds to support Special Operation Wounded, Ill and Injured. Riders are all special forces veterans, riding Can-Am Spyder’s in a 10 day ride across our the country from Seattle to Tampa. These riders share a bond, not only are they Special Operations Forces veterans but were all injured, many of them severely. You will not find a more resilient group of heroes. I am asking the Patriotic Riders to show up along the route to support the riders.
Their last stop on the journey prior to arriving at their final destination will be at Barney’s Motorcycle of St. Pete. The community is invited to Barney’s of St. Pete from 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. for an afternoon of celebration, music, grilling, and support of the veterans as they finish their ride to Tampa.
The final celebration will be held at Quaker Steak & Lube Pinellas Park, with the group leaving Barney’s at 4:00 p.m. The riding community is invited to ride with the veterans from Barney’s of St. Pete to their final destination.
So, if you find yourself with a few spare hours Saturday, please join us for the escort ride along with these Warriors. We already have the Celery Fields ride heading south, but our plan is to finish the ride and be at Barneys no later than 3:30 p.m. We can meet the Spec Ops Warriors and have the honor of a short ride to Quaker Steak and Lube. There will be plenty of food and local media there and PR never hurts.
