Hug a Puppy Ride!
Southeast Guide Dog Service/Paws for Patriots Provider
[masked]th Street East, Palmetto, FL 34221.
A puppy puts the world in perspective. There’s nothing better than a soft little furball tugging on your shoestring or a bundle of energy on your lap.
But don’t be fooled. These are no ordinary puppies. And yours are no ordinary hugs.
When you arrive on campus to hug our puppies, you are helping us achieve the ultimate level of socialization needed to develop world-class guide dogs; dogs that are comfortable with people and accustomed to stimulation. Later they’ll learn to focus on their job despite the distractions, but early on, these fun sessions help them prepare for life as a guide dog.
For just $5.00 per person (which helps us buy puppy food!), we’ll reserve a puppy-hugging spot just for you.
Eight spots have been reserved. This had filled up the Puppy Hugging session.
We will meet at Waffle House (6502 U.S. 301 Tampa, FL 33610) on 301 near I4. 8am if you want breakfast, KSU at 9am. It will take about 45 minutes down State route 41 to get to the puppy petting destination. Schedule a gas stop between puppies and lunch. From there we can head down 41 to Manatee Ave and onto the furthest most Point of Anna Maria Island for lunch at Rod and Real restaurant on the Pier. (875 N Shore Dr, Anna Maria, FL 34216)
After lunch we can head into Bradenton to the Sea Haggs Art Boutique (12304 Cortez Rd W). After the boutique we can head down Long Boat Key into Sarasota to catch 301 back north to cross the Skyway bridge and up 19 where the Pinellas riders can peel off here to their home front. Then we will head east across the Gandy toward Tampa/Brandon areas.
