5th Annual 9-11 Gratitude Ride

  • September 6, 2014 · 8:00 AM

The Annual 9/11 Gratitude Ride to Benefit Pasco County Fire Rescue hosted by Pasco County Choppers.

The event is open to the public! Please join as we memorialize 9/11 and honor the First Responders in our own back yard. Come out and ride with us as we show our gratitude to the men and women of our local Emergency Services. We will be making a 50 mile Poker Run with stops at (2) fire stations in Pasco, and extending a hand to say "Thanks for the work you do."  It's been 13 years since the events of 9-11-01. Show the First Responders of our community how we will NEVER FORGET that tragic day, and every day they run into danger.

The event will begin along Quail Hollow in Wesley Chapel at 8:30 a.m. with a brief ceremony at 9:45 a.m.to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice, and to those that continue to serve our community. Kick stands up at 10:00 a.m..

Following the ceremony and “poker run”, there will be a memorial party under the large oaks back at Hungry Harry’s featuring a free concert with The Greg Billings Band. Event T-Shirts will be for sale during the event as well as Food, 50/50, Raffle, Vendors and More. ALL PROCEEDS will go directly to the first responders and their families through the Pasco County Fire Rescue Benevolent Fund.

Last year there were approximately 150 bikes that showed up, so this event is well attended and local media will be there.  This is one of the few Fire Rescue support rides throughout the year, so if you can make it, please do.  Please bring something to drink so you can hydrate while we participate in the short memorial service.

Lets meet at the 7-11 on the corner HWY 41 and HWY 54 at 8:00 a.m., We will get a head count and safety brief and head out to Quail Hollow Our KSU will be 8:30 a.m.

Are there any extra patches I would like them too please

Connie...I saw you guys. I was in Wesley Chapel retrieving my trailer. Fortunately my truck was mot parked in the garage or I would have been stuck!! I was restricted from driving on the driveway for 3 days, so the bike was captive. :-)

I asked Star today if she ever thought her group would grow to this size and importance. Patriotic Riders has turned out to be a huge influence as a first-rate Tampa riding group and will always hold a special place for me, with terrific people and meaningful rides.

just got back from up north last night after 3 months. bike oil reservoir was completely empty. need to find out where the oil disappeared to before going on a ride. any ideas? no oil stain under the bike. it's a harley sporster custom trike.

There is an oil line from your oil tank to your engine. Seems like that is broken.

i added 1/2 quart and ran it a while. that made it overfull. took the 1/2 quart back out and now all seems fine after a 20 mile short ride. wish i could have made this ride as it brought back memories of my time in NYC after 9/11.see you all next weekend

The PCC work hard for their first responders. Quail Hollow does a good job supporting the event every year. Pasco county has some nice roads, but the traffic is getting busier. The ride was fun.

Looks like this is another ride I won't be going on. Long story and have decided to look for other options bikewise. Keep sending me the invitations. I'll be at one eventually.

12.1 is a hair rich, should be approx 12.5 to 13 at idle, 13 to 14 at cruise, 12.5 at wide open throttle. And if the bike ran fine before, and this surging issue just started, doubt that you need a power commander or Cobra Fi management module. Would have been an issue from the time you did your mods. Not sure if your spark plug boots have resistors in them, my bike does, and they go bad, most replace with a straight piece of wire. I'm not familiar with Kawasaki though.

Maybe try a different shop? Seems you are being nickled and dimed. Put it on a dyno? What shop puts it on a dyno with out you paying a hefty some for it? Most shops don't even have a dyno.

Not sure why but this was a
standout event to ride last year and I'm very much looking forward to this one, camera in hand. I will always be grateful to those I have
    met and ridden with
through this group. Patriotic Riders has taught me much about patriotism and remembering those who put their life on the line every day.
