Not sure if you have heard about the “Party in the Pasture”, but it has been going on for ten years. It is an ole fashioned biker get-to-gether and can be raunchy in the evening. But there is very good security and no one has ever been hurt. The event offers many bike vendors and plenty of Rock music.
As you can see, this is the last one ever to be held. I propose we continue our pin quest (maybe a patch) and pay this final event a visit. The proceeds benefit the DD214 Foundation (Veterans). The DD 214 Foundation is a 501-c3 Not for Profit organization of ALL BIKER Volunteers dedicated to helping our Needy Veterans. The foundation distributes monies directly through Marine Corps League 708 in Brooksville Florida. The Money is presented to Needy Vets regardless of Branch of Service. To date the DD214 Foundation has collected and distributed $116,000.00 in aid to those who proudly served, and where wounded in the line of duty protecting our freedom.
They primarily get their donations through this event, so let’s support them. There is a $10 entrance fee, no pets are allowed and it is for 21 years old and over. The event is held at 27151 Soult Rd, Brooksville, FL 34601. I propose we meet at the McDonald Parking lot located at 104 West Bearss Avenue in Tampa, Fl 33613 at 9:30 a.m. with a KSU at 9:45 a.m. We will take a nice round about ride north up to Brooksville – Bearss Ave west to Livingston Ave. Then north to Hwy 54, west, then go north again to Old Pasco Road. That will take us to Hwy 52. From there we will go east to Hwy581 (a great twisty road with some surprisingly big hills). We will take Hwy 581 north, then east on Hwy 572 (Powel Rd) to Hwy 541 (Spring Lake Hwy). We will cross Hwy 50 (now it become Mondon Hill Rd), and follow that to Soult Rd and go north from there on Sikes Cow Pen Rd to the event, about 11:45 a.m. arrival.
It will be a great 52 miles with plenty of turns, hills and scenery. Once we are at the event, you are on your own to enjoy it. If your desire to stay with the crowd (Patriotic Riders) we will be returning back to Tampa at 2:00 p.m. and taking Hwy 41 south back.
