Ahlan/Hi! My name's Michael Jamal Riegelman. I'm the Director of the NYC Arabic Language & Culture Club. I live in Hell's Kitchen, Madhattan. I served as an Environmental Educator with the Peace Corps in Morocco several years ago.
Well - I've Always been a peacefull tree-huggin' hippy, but more to the point, my interest in the 'Middle East' and hence 'Arab culture' began when I joined the Peace Corps to serve in Morocco.
I'm interested in Peace, not just in the 'Middle East', but throughout the world. I don't know that it is possible, but I want to believe it is, and that it can be created by learning about others, as well as ourselves.
"I feel the Only way 2 promote peace in the Middle East is through education. We Must be willing 2 learn about 1-another,accepting the fact that there's Always more than 1-side 2 every issue.I want 2 help promote Peace, not only in the ME,but everywhere"
I'm really excited about this group, and think that we can do great things, Incha'Allah. Our first event at NYU was excellent! I enjoyed meeting you all, and can't wait for our next gathering!
