We will be hiking Sandwich (3980 ft.) and Jennings( 3440 ft.) (and Noon Peak (2976 ft.) as well). Part of 52 with a view and NEHH!
We will start and end a Sandwich Mountain Trail, and do a lollipop loop incorporating Jennings Trail and Drakes Brook Trail. This hike will be roughly 8.7 miles with 2600 ft. in elevation gain, and there will be an early water crossing :)! We will be going at a[masked] mile/hour pace, but this could change if we need to go slower. It should take an average hiker about 5 hours and 45 minutes which makes this an INTERMEDIATE hike. I won't lie, there will be more than a few steep sections on this hike, so be ready.
Check out these links for some reports others had on this hike: http://summithikinginnewengland.blogspot.com/2014/05/sandwich-mountain-3980-and-jennings.html
I would like everyone to be at the trailhead before the 830 AM start time. If you are unable to make it please take yourself of the RSVP or give me a call ASAP. My cell is[masked]-7463. We start as a group, hike as a group, and finish as a group. Our pace will be that of the slowest hiker. This trip isn't for you if you are faster than the group and don't want to stay with us, if you want to head off on your own, or if you are slower than the group and expect us to constantly wait for you.
Please read the entire event description before you RSVP. It is important, not only for your safety, but that of the entire group.
Mountain weather is subject to rapid changes and extreme conditions. Dangerous weather conditions will cancel - I will post an update and/or send an email to all confirmed participants a day or two ahead of time. We will assess travel and weather conditions during the hike and make changes to our planned trip as necessary.

Hiking safely is about being prepared so that you can respond to an emergency situation or spend a night in the woods if you have to.
Do not rely on others to have extra items to share with you at the meeting spot or on the trail. You should know how to use all of your equipment - test and adjust it prior to this trip. Remember to bring the appropriate gear for this hike (including water shoes for the crossing, plenty of food and water, and adequate clothing). A map and compass always comes in handy if the organizer gets lost:). Here is a list link to recommended gear: warm weather packing list. If you have any questions about gear, please ask me via email or cell phone. Directions:
As a condition of your voluntary participation in this activity you acknowledge and agree to the following: this activity involves inherent risks that can cause property damage, injury, illness, disability, and/or death to participants and/or others; You agree not to hold the Organizer, Assistant Organizers, or any other members responsible for any injuries, mishaps, or any other situation that may happen at a planned event. You are responsible to research the event, know the area, and bring the proper gear and agree to know and follow the Hiker Responsibility Code described at www.hikesafe.com
I'm excited for this one! Let us hope the weather stays great!
