I've done close to 6 full rounds of the NH48, including nearly 2 rounds in winter; also a New England 4000-Footer and Hundred Highest completer. I hike an average of 2 weekends/month (usually both days of the weekend) year-round, I just love to get out into the mountains!
A little bit of everything. I try to do a full round of the NH48 each year, but otherwise, whatever sounds interesting! I am also slowly chipping at "the grid".
Absolutely, I love winter hiking! I finished the NH 4Ks in winter in March 2013 (Bondcliff), and slowly pecking away at the NE4Ks in winter.
I prefer longer day hikes just to make the drive worth it; 10-15 miles with 3-5K elevation gain is my average day, occaisonally I go much further/longer. I'm usually up for anything interesting, particularly if it's a new trail to me. I'm usually doing 4ks and have no problems repeating any of them (even good 'ol Owl's Head). I am also interested in starting working on the[masked]-footers in New York.
I love both day hiking and backpacking. Been hiking in the White Mountains off-and-on for 15 years. NH48, NHW48, NE67 & NEHH finisher.
