C40 - STPTS - Seattle-to-Portland Training Series

STP Training Series

This is a great way to train for the Seattle-to-Portland ride, a metric century, or full century ride.  These rides will gradually increase in length and will be a little slower and flatter than our usual Saturday Pedal Club rides.


40 miles

Pace: 14-16 mph

Hills: 2400 ft of elevation

Sweep: no; route sheets; regroup at the bottom of Indian Hill


From Folsom Bike, onto Auburn-Folsom, through Folsom Lake Estates, to Barton, through the Loomis Basin to Indian Hill, Shirland Tract, Horseshoe Bar and back to Folsom Bike for 40 miles

The Plan

We will keep a moderate pace with 1-2 short regroup stops. Come prepared to stay with the group or follow the route sheet.

-Meet at 9:45a in Folsom Bike parking lot and roll out at 10:00a SHARP.  Remember DAYLIGHT SAVINGS!!!!

-The ride will take approx 3+ hours

-Socializing afterwards at Folsom Grind

Please RSVP for this ride & also be respectful of the group & cancel it if you cannot make it.

This ride is for you if:

  • You have a road bike and in good working condition
  • You are comfortable shifting and riding continuously with minimal or no stopping
  • You can ride at 18 mph (intermediate) on flats for a minimum of 15 miles
  • You want a REAL Hill challenge.
  • You want to have fun & feel like a kid again, enjoying the freedom on a bike while getting in an amazing work out with like minded Pedal-ers.
