Farringdon Legal: Big Data Businesses

The startup business used as a case study for this session will be a Big Data Tech business. The founder(s) will explain what the business does, its current status and its legal challenges. The founder(s) will then ask Michael Buckworth from Buckworth Solicitors for guidance on legal issues relevant to the business. Michael will provide advice and will answer questions from the floor.

Key issues that will be explored will be:
(i) the rules around collection of data (particularly personal information) and distribution/sale of data.
(ii) seeking investment
(iii) transacting with customers abroad
(iv) protecting IP (particularly when dealing with customers abroad)

Beer and pizzas will be provided by Buckworth Solicitors from 6.30pm with the session beginning around 7pm.
