Hi, I am Andre and although ordinarily a meat eater I really enjoy the occasional macrobiotic dinner. Both the food, the people and the productive visit to the bathroom that usually follows after all the fiber.
We offer a Gourmet Vegetarian and Vegan Dinner every Monday night in Palo Alto, at the First Baptist Church, 305 North California Avenue at Bryant, 1/4 mile East of Alma. (This is rented space; the Dinners have no religious affiliation).
This is a full vegan dinner which includes soup, grain, beans or bean products, vegetables, dessert, and beverage, prepared by expert natural foods chefs. Dinner price is $18 dine in or take away. Extra soups and desserts are often available for $2-$5.
All are welcome at our Dinners, vegetarian or not. The Dinners are particularly helpful for those who want to eat a healthier diet, but may not know how to get started. Many who attend may share similar health and food related concerns.
All welcome! Attendance ranges from 60 to 100, with a full spectrum of ages spanning newborns to grandparents.
Many long-time friendships have started at the Monday Night Dinners, and are renewed every week! (If you are new to the Dinners, please tell our hostess, Patricia Becker, at the Welcome table, and she or one of the volunteers will be happy to assist you).
Monthly After-Dinner Speakers and Events are on normally on health related topics, by a variety of knowledgable speakers including macrobiotic counselors, medical doctors, cooking teachers, and people who have dealt successfully with serious diseases using macrobiotics or similar approaches. Other events have included performances by folk singers and vegetarian Chinese acrobats. Suggested donation of $5-10
