Join us for a swim-bike-run "practice tri" at Coyote Point on Saturday April 6, 8:30 am! Or come just for the open water swim if you'd prefer. Perfect opportunity to put yourself and your gear through all the paces before your upcoming event...or just to enojoy a fun workout. The course is such that all experience levels are accomodated.
We'll swim 45 min., ride 2 hrs, and run 1 hr. Meet 8:30am, ready to swim 8:45 am. (Bring $6 admission). Have your "transition area" set up at your car - there won't be anyone to watch our things, so your trunk/bike rack & lock/etc. is your transition zone. Be ready to move through your transitions rapidly as possible as in an actual event.
Tide conditions look to be very good on Saturday and the water temps have improved. Our swim will loop around the piers, 1/3, 2/3, or 1 mi. distances.
The ride is an out + back from Coyote Pt: Third Ave., up Crystal Springs + Polhemus, over the bike bridge (280), and along Canada Rd. It's a bit of a climb but no fixed loop, so simply turnaround after 1 hr. If you prefer a flat course, alternative is to bike the Bay Trail down to Redwood Shores and back.
The run will be from Coyote Point along the (flat) Bay Trail, 30 min. out, 30 min. back.
This event is cross-listed with Silicon Valley Tri Club and groups on Facebook and Meetup so we anticipate a good turnout.
Coyote Point beach, Dore Ave exit from 101 North, 1st left on to N. Bayshore Blvd., right on Coyote Point Dr., and follow the signs to the swimming beach. After you pass thru the gatehouse, take the 2d left and park near the changing rooms on the right end of the beach. A sign says "Swim Area #5/Captain's House" that will take you to the swimming area.
