The Elizabeth F Gamble Botanical Gardens is a wonderful venue for taking pictures of plants and all types of foliage. I'm a particular fan of their lovely benches, mellow atmosphere, and wide diversity of flowers. Combined with the accessibility of this place, and specifically the notable lack of any windy and long drives up steep hills, its really hard not to enjoy ones self here.
Whereas the Russian Ridge is more landscape / scenic, the focus here might end up being more on plants. A word of advice - if you have a friend who owns a macro lens, you might find it even more fun. If you happen to have a Canon SLR and want to try mine out for a few shots, just let me know.
I don't think there is a parking lot here, however, there is plenty of easy parking to find on the streets surrounding the Garden. And, one other thing - there are no washrooms. That being said, there are washrooms in nearby coffee shops (like Philz coffee for example, one of my favorite places!).
I am happy to offer rides for people who are roughly between Mountain View and Palo Alto and wouldn't be able to come otherwise. Lets get shooting!
