Peninsula Herb Society General Meeting

At past general meetings we discussed making a contribution of creating an herb garden (Sensory Garden) at a school and/or at a senior housing facility. I just spoke with the Activities Director of Bridgepoint, which is a smallish senior community, and he is interested in our project. He offered some generous space located in some standing level planting beds. I told him we could start small until I find out who and how many members might be interested in helping out. Bridgepoint is willing to pay for all of the materials, we just need to provide the plans, enthusiasm, and working power. I would love it if any of you would be interested in any of those parts. Maybe some can just do some planning on what could fit the space we have, or have an opinion on what herbs would be nice for the sensory experience of the seniors. Maybe you can help with the planting. Any help or advice will be appreciated. This is not a large project but it can be a great first project that we can learn and grow from.

I'm going to say no right now since I think I will be at the reunion/35th anniversary of the school I worked at as an aide when I first moved here. If plans change, I will let you know.
